How do you calculate your rate?
Our quote is based on the actual workload. For example, for tasks such as proofreading or translation, we measure it according to the word count of the source text. Therefore, for such tasks, we charge per source word (e.g. a text containing 1000 words = $ 0.05/word = $ 50 in total). When is not possible to calculate the actual word amount, or for time-based tasks we charge an hourly rate.
We have a flexible payment system and are happy to agree with the terms proposed, whenever it is possible. Reasonably 30 to 60 NET days after the issuance of the invoice is a suitable term.
In which currency the payment should be made?
For local payments, the default currency is Brazilian real (BRL). For international payments, we accept payments in either euros (EUR) and US dollar (USD).
For new customers, we usually discuss briefly the terms of potential collaboration and, if there is an existing task to be executed, we provide a quote.
If the quote provided is accepted, a purchase order stating in detail (i) the buyer data, (ii) the task to be carried out, (iii) the deadline, (iv) the total amount to be paid and (v) the payment terms shall be issued before each order or assignment.

Which tools are used in the translation and proofreading process?
Modern CAT tools have powerful features that allow us to manage the entire process, creating a translation project, using translation memories and referring to termbases. They also have embedded spell check and QA tools that help to avoid errors and improve the quality and consistency. The CAT tools we use most are SDL Trados Studio and MemoQ, while our preferred tool for spell check and QA is Xbench.
We record anything from past projects that we believe is important, such as POs, project number, etc and store files, translation memories, termbases in a secure place. However, the privacy of our customers and associates is crucial, therefore we protect theirs and ours with cutting-edge safety measures (antivirus, antimalware, etc) to prevent leakage and generally sign non-disclosure agreements. Regarding personal data, we always comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and ask the consent to the processing of personal information.
However, we are aware that sometimes speeding up some project or working out of business hours is necessary in order to meet the deadlines and the needs of our clients. Therefore, if needed, we will do our best to be reachable and available out of this timeframe.
Do you close on holidays?
No, except for extraordinary reasons, we are always open and available even on holidays, either international or national.
